Terms of Service · Effective October 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of PlayDate at www.playdate.network, operated by Adam Byrne (“PlayDate,” “we,” or “us”). By using PlayDate, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Contact us at adam@adambyrne.com.

The shared understanding

Start with a private draft. Review what you share. Respect every “not right now.” PlayDate can help you find a possible fit; you decide whether to say hello and whether to meet. No family owes another family access, a reply, or a friendship.

1. Adults represent their own families

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into these terms to use PlayDate. You may describe children only if you are their parent or guardian or otherwise have appropriate authority and permission. Children must not create accounts, submit information independently, or use PlayDate to contact adults.

Give accurate information, keep your account secure, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not impersonate another family or imply that you have authority or consent you do not have. You are responsible for your own use of the service.

2. What PlayDate does

PlayDate helps you draft a family invitation, compare interests and boundaries, share a reviewed link or optional public page, and make introductions. You can begin drafting without signing in. Features that save information on our servers or connect families may require an account.

AI wording and match suggestions can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. Review them yourself, correct errors, and remove information you do not want shared. A match is a suggestion, not an assessment of a person's identity, character, safety, parenting, or suitability. PlayDate is not childcare, a background-check service, an emergency service, or medical, therapeutic, or professional advice.

4. Adults make the real-world decisions

We do not verify every user, conduct background checks, or supervise meetups. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to meet, supervising your children, and checking arrangements directly with the other adults. Prefer a public, parent-present first meeting. Do not disclose an exact home address or children's routines before you are comfortable doing so. Stop an interaction if something feels wrong. Contact local emergency services for immediate danger, and report service abuse to us.

5. Be a thoughtful guest

Do not use PlayDate to harass, threaten, exploit, stalk, discriminate unlawfully, scam, solicit children, send sexual content involving minors, or distribute illegal material. Do not upload information or images without the rights and permissions needed, scrape family information, republish private contact details, send spam, bypass access controls, interfere with the service, or use it for surveillance or advertising lists. Respect other families' decisions and applicable law.

6. Your content remains yours

You keep your rights to your writing, invitation, and photos. You give PlayDate a limited, nonexclusive permission to store, process, format, and display that content as necessary to provide the features you choose, including requested AI processing, publishing, matching, and delivering introductions. This permission does not let us sell your private story or use your family as an advertisement without separate permission.

You are responsible for the content you submit and for obtaining appropriate permission from people represented in it. You may edit available account information or contact us to request removal or deletion. Removal cannot recall copies or emails already received by others, and some records may remain as explained in the Privacy Policy. PlayDate's branding and software remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Availability, account closure, and changes

You may stop using PlayDate at any time. Email us to request account or published-page deletion. Clearing your browser draft or signing out does not delete server records.

We may remove content or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to address a violation, abuse, security risk, or legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will explain the action and give you a way to contact us about it. We may change or discontinue features; we will give reasonable notice of significant changes where practicable. We will not impose a charge without presenting it and obtaining your agreement first.

We will publish changes to these terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice for material changes. Changes apply going forward; any consent required by law will be requested separately.

8. Practical limits and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by law, PlayDate is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees of uninterrupted service, error-free AI output, compatible matches, or safe or successful meetings. To that same extent, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from service interruptions or other users' conduct. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or other nonwaivable responsibilities.

Your mandatory consumer and privacy rights remain intact. These terms do not require arbitration, waive class actions, or prevent you from using a court or regulator available under applicable law. If an issue arises, you can contact adam@adambyrne.com so we can try to resolve it. An unenforceable provision does not invalidate the remaining terms.
